Every evening, during the nine-day Kuta Karnival, the local Balinese youths present their talents in traditional dances and music, much to the delight of audience crowding the beach at sunset.
Turtle Release
Turtles are released to mark the opening of the Kuta Karnival in 2007. These green animals are protected and seasonally hatch their eggs along the sandy shores of Kuta beach. Less than 10% turtle hatchlings survive to live a full live.

Paddle for Peace
Surfers from 22 countries paddle out into the ocean to sprinkle flower petals as a symbol of peace, being sent out from Bali's shores to every corner of the world.
Karnival on the streets
Young and old from every layer of the Kuta community, took to the streets in a parade to call for unity of all mankind. Looking on, more than 10 thousand stood patiently along the sidewalks or sit inside open-air side cafes and restaurants.
